About the Citroën DS21

Unveiled at the 1955 Paris Motor Show, the DS revolutionised car design with its futuristic aerodynamics and hydropneumatic suspension.

History and trivia

The DS21 variant, with its 2,175 cc engine, arrived in 1965 as one of the most powerful versions before the DS23 closed out the model's commercial life. The DS's design, the work of Flaminio Bertoni, was so far ahead of its time that Classic & Sports Car magazine named it the most beautiful car of all time in 1999, and it remains part of MoMA New York's permanent collection today.
