About the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500
The Shelby GT500 name honours Carroll Shelby's 1960s creations, when his tuning of the original Mustang started the whole lineage.
History and trivia
The sixth-generation version (2020-2022) packed a supercharged V8 producing over 760 hp, making it the most powerful production Mustang in history to date. Despite its brute power, Ford also engineered it to be competitive on track, fitting carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes and an optional Carbon Fiber Track Package aero kit.
